Marker Disney Studios: Buena Vista Street

When guests enter the park, they enter a recreation of 1923 Los Angeles, how it was when Walt Disney first came to the city. With many fictional businesses referencing his life and early career, this tributes the man who started it all. This street is shaped like an inverted 'L,' making it an interesting shape.

When guests first walk into the studios, guests see a small park in the front of the street. This is where a statue of Walt and Mickey is known as "Storytellers." It is inspired by the statue seen in DCA, Tokyo Disneysea, and Shanghai Disneyland. On the left, guests can find help at the Studio Building. On the right, guests can learn more about Walt Disney at the One Man's Dream exhibition. Also nearby is the Celebrity Spotlight building, where guests can meet Disney characters.
As guests go down the street, they see several shops and restaurants. On the left is The Studio Store, which is the largest store in the park, Clarabelle's Ice Cream, Disney Bros. Cafe, and Oswald's Clothing Company. On the right is Mortimer's Pizza, Elias and Sons Department Store, and The Darkroom. At the end of the street is Carthay plaza. The Hollywood Brown Derby is located nearby as well as a recreation of Carthay theater. This is where guests can watch the stage show Walt Disney: The Man Behind the Mouse. It is a 30-minute musical about Walt Disney, starting with his arrival in Los Angeles in 1923 and ending with the opening of Disneyland in 1955. Going right will take guests into Hollywood Gardens.

When making this area, I wanted to tribute the man who started it all. However, I didn't want it to be an exact replica of the DCA area, so I switched things up a little. I hope it's shape is okay, because I was a little worried that it wouldn't work out.

Comments

  1. I think the shape would be ok. I like the tribute to Walt.
