Maker Disney Resort: An Introduction

When I was young, I was enchanted by Disney parks. I loved them for their feeling of escapism and sense of magic. I enjoyed seeing them and appreciating them for what they were................but now I don't. What happened?

MANY things happened. Imagineering has been screwed up these days, putting IPs (movies, series, characters) where they don't belong. There's the shoehorning of them in Epcot and Disney's California Adventure, proposals to put Moana (which would go better in Magic Kingdom) in Animal Kingdom and Hispanic movies (which would go better in Epcot) in Magic Kingdom, right behind Big Thunder Mountain, and not to mention, retheming Pacific Wharf at DCA to Big Hero 6, but having no rides, just themed merch and a meet-and greet, creating what I believe is the worst retheme they've done yet. Then there's the over-inclusiveness of the parks. Although the removal of problematic material in some rides (headhunters in Jungle Cruise, wenches in Pirates) is understandable, they attempt to make things more inclusive. With Splash Mountain being remade into the most woke attraction ever (according to what I've read on it, that's what it sounds like it will be. If they weren't over-representing Tiana enough, putting her in every commercial for the parks, they want EVERYONE to join in on her ride and so they're making it as diverse and culturally unique as they can) as well as only black people being Santa Claus in the American parks, the sun just doesn't set on their wokeness. It wouldn't be too bad if they weren't bringing LGBTQ events (a month is bearable, but a whole night honoring them) in, most especially a man in a fairy godmother costume in Bibbiti Bobbiti Boutique. The fact that I had been on some negatively-minded forums didn't help, and now Disney Parks have been ruined for me.

So if I hate Disney Parks now, then why am I making this? I will tell you. With the parks losing their innocence and my views of the company turned sour, seeing them as greedy and over-saturating, I want to bring the parks back to what they were to me growing up. Before they were ruined, they were great places. I want to recreate what they were like in a new resort, and so I created this, Marker Disney. It's where all the corruption in the parks has been taken out and all is well. In a way, it is my ideal resort.

While I don't have the entire resort planned out quite yet, I know where I'm going to start.......Marker Disneyland. This is the first of three parks in the resort. I find three to be a good number, because Disneyland has too little with only two and Disney World has too much with four, so I find a space in between.

  1. Interesting thoughts and comments here. Though many people won’t agree with your opinion of Disney becoming woke and corrupt, many will. I’d very much like to see this refresh of the park come true.
